Delay and Peak-Age-of-Information of ALOHA Networks With Limited Retransmissions

This letter analyzes the impact of packet retransmissions on performance wireless random access protocols. In particular, we focus effects two controllable parameters, namely rate at which occur and number allowed retransmissions. a scenario where packets are generated according to Poisson process new substitute old ones upon arrival, determine conditions in given throughput or success probability constraint is achievable. We also prove, for general function traffic, that selecting smallest feasible value along with an appropriate retransmission optimal terms mean delay transmit Peak-Age-of-Information . illustrate this result numerical examples.
